On Wednesday 13th February we hosted the Year 5 Woodley Cluster ‘Bake Off’ with students from Highwood and Willowbank primary schools. The year 5s worked alongside The Bulmershe School Year 10 students to produce some amazing bakes.

The day consisted of Year 5 students baking and creating their showstopper bakes, and completing an icing technical skills challenge. As you can see, their designs were fabulous. The primary children  spent months planning, designing and practising their bakes ready to be judged by Councillor Keith Baker, John MacNaught and Mrs Woodfin.

Transition students in Year 10 – Eva, Ellie, Grace, Caitlin, Scarlett, Julia, Nicole, Jess, Ella, Trinity, Amy and Sandhuni  demonstrated outstanding leadership skills and were highly praised by students, staff and parents. They were a great asset to this event and I am truly grateful to them.

We would like to congratulate Year 5 students from Willowbank Primary School who successfully won the ‘Bake Off’ and we are excited to be hosting this event again in the near future.

I would just like to say a BIG THANK YOU to Sainsbury’s who kindly made a donation towards the ingredients, the Mayor of Woodley Sam Rahmouni for supporting the celebration presentations, Councillor Keith Baker, John MacNaught and Mrs Woodfin for judging, and the teaching staff and parents from Highwood and Willowbank Primary Schools for all your support – it is much appreciated.
