Accelerated Reader for KS3 during school closure

Dear Parents of Years 7 and 8,

During this time, it is so important that your child continues all their hard work with Accelerated Reader. We expect all students to be reading something of their choice for at least 20 minutes a day. Not only is this integral to their learning and education, but this is also a great way to give them some focussed time over the next few weeks and, perhaps, some escapism from isolation!

They can still access their Accelerated Reader account to complete quizzes on books which they’ve finished; their teachers will be keeping track of this and updating the class on the Top 10 readers via Doddle/Google Classroom.  They will also be asked to complete a STAR test for one of their upcoming homeworks – an online reading test that should take at least 20 minutes. Instructions for this will be put on the online platforms at the time.
