Dear Parents/Carers,

We have just been received the guidance from Ofqual (Office of Qualifications and Examinations Regulation) regarding how the final grades will be calculated this summer. Below is the link to a letter from Sally Collier, the Chief Regulator, please read through carefully.

In essence the guidance reassures you that:

1. Your child will not be disadvantaged by the current situation.

2. Teachers can use a whole range of evidence so do not worry if coursework’s or mock exams are missing.

3. Your child may receive their grades earlier than the normal August release date.

4. As a school we are not allowed to communicate with you what we have submitted as the final grade.

We will however be in touch with you after the Easter break  with the recent mock examination results though families must understand that the final grade will not be based purely on mock examination performance and that a whole range of evidence can be used.

Over the coming weeks we will be working with all teachers on ensuring we are following the guidelines and providing students with a secure, evidence based final grade.

Take care,

Mrs Amanda Woodfin
