Monday 15th June

Dear Parents and Carers,

I hope you all had a good weekend.

We are very excited to be welcoming back year 12 today, I will let you know how we get on. Year 10 start back on Wednesday. As we go through the week we will obviously be continually reviewing our processes in order to ensure we have them right. I’ll let you know if any changes that are made.

Our extended remote teaching programme: We are working on a plan to increase our provision of live and or pre-recorded lessons to all students, across most, if not all subjects. Staff have been piloting different approaches across the year groups over the last couple of weeks in order to establish what they feel works best. (Targeted classes from year 7 through to 12 have received live lessons as well as pre-recorded lessons). The full programme will start next week. I will release more information, including updated safeguarding protocols later in the week.

The Performing Arts Team have been absolutely amazed by the creativity and ingenuity shown by the students and staff entering the Keep the Light Burning Project, with photos showing students' musical interests, dancing capabilities and favourite film remakes (posters and scenes). The fantastic Mr Hood has also been 'on fire' on the faculty twitter feed Bulmershe Performing Arts so do follow us and see some of the inspirational entries already sent in. Don't forget you have until midnight tonight for any final entries and winners will be announced on Friday. We would like to thank all of the families that have supported their children with the wonderful entries we have seen so far!

A few updates:

35% of our staffing remains impacted by COVID.

We have issued £18,465 in FSM vouchers

From today, please remember that if your child is traveling into school using public transport they will be required to wear a face covering.

Have a good week and take care.

Amanda Woodfin
