The Loddon Vale Rotary Club held their annual award ceremony for The Bulmershe School GCSE Resistant Materials students in July.

Two members of staff from the Design & Technology department attended the event and exhibited the work GCSE students designed and made for their coursework.

The exhibits were judged on whether they were aesthetically pleasing and structurally sound. During lunch, the judges announced their winners, with a prize for 1st and 2nd place.

Then there was a long wait for the prizewinners until September when members of the Rotary Club returned to present the prizes in the Sixth form assembly.

This award is in memory of Martin Boyles, who sadly passed away this year. Both a Rotarian and school governor, Martin was governor for the Design and Technology department for many years.

The school is honoured to be able to work with Loddon Vale Rotary club and also to title the award in Martin's name. He worked  extremely closely with our department and we will all miss him.
