Students from The Bulmershe School and Addington School have won their school £100 each for their participation in the Newbury Agricultural Challenge.

Both teams had seven different tasks to complete:

  1. A collage based on the Commonwealth Games
  2. Up to 10 different ideas for Garden Crafts
  3. Something savoury made for a picnic
  4. Something on an environmentally friendly theme made from recycled materials
  5. A visual diary of growing a food product; from seed, right through to cooking with it.
  6. A homemade bug house
  7. A container of grown Spring flowers

The Bulmershe team won the ‘best in show’ for their fabulous homemade vegetable soup for their perfect picnic snack. All of the vegetables were home grown and cooked by the students, ably assisted by LSAs Ms Gardiner and Mrs Brooks.

Congratulations to our green team, Russell, Lucy, Callum, James and Cameron.
