Parents: A level results 2017

Congratulations to all of our sixth form students who receive their exam results today. We are very proud to announce the best set of A level results in the history of the school. This tremendous achievement is despite the national turbulence and changes to exam structures introduced by the Government and I am particularly pleased to see such great results across the whole ability range- real testimony to the hard work of our students and staff. 

We have achieved tremendous results, particularly at the higher grades of A* and A with 27.1% of all grades classed as A*/A and 47.1% of all grades at A*-B.

There were especially good performances from a whole range of subjects for example 39% of Mathematics A level grades were awarded the top A*/A grade, in Physics 38% and 33% in Chemistry. 57% of Art grades and 53% of English grades achieved A*-B.  In Computing 83% of the group received a Distinction or Distinction *. Results which really do reflect the determination and work ethic of our students.

Special mention must be made of some of our highest achievers:

  • Emma Carson:  achieved three A grades in Maths, Chemistry and Physics. Emma has been accepted into Warwick University to read Engineering
  • Sachindri Gunasekara: achieved three A grades in Psychology, English Literature and History. Sachindri has been accepted into Kings College London to read War Studies.
  • Owen Hilton: achieved A*in Maths, A* in Further Maths and A in Physics. Owen has been accepted into Royal Holloway University to read Physics.
  • Natalie Legg: achieved an A grade in English Language and Literature, B in Geography and B in History. Natalie has been accepted into Birmingham University to read political science. 
  • Evie Lewis: achieved A* in Maths and History and an A grade in English Literature. Evie has been accepted into Oxford University to read History.
  • Tara Lonergan:  achieved A* in English Language and Literature, A grade in Art and a B in Media Studies. Tara has been accepted into UWL to read animation.
  • Daniel Percival: achieved A* in Maths and Chemistry, A grade in Physics and B in Further Maths. Daniel has been accepted into Oxford University to read Chemistry.
  • Dave Silong: achieved three A’s in Maths, Chemistry and Physics. Dave has been accepted into Southampton University to read Mechanical Engineering.
  • Jennifer Stout: achieved A* grades in Maths and Physics and an A grade in Chemistry. Jennifer has been accepted into Reading University to study Meteorology and Climate.

We wish our leavers all the best for their bright futures ahead and thank them for their many contributions to school life at Bulmershe.
