The  House System at The Bulmershe School is a strong part of our community and continually introduces new and exciting initiatives. We are proud to be developing this is order to engage and involve students in an inclusive extra-curricular programme.

Students are placed in one of four houses when they arrive at School.

In addition, we aim to match students with their siblings in order to promote house cohesion and ownership.

We select House Captains for each house from our Sixth Form, and our Sixth Form students are also placed in houses to work with younger students of the same house in a number of capacities. They are then supported by house representatives from each year group throughout the School.

The houses are based on local history and the Woodley Community; they enable students to exercise responsibility as House Captains, to identify with their house colour and logo, and obtain rewards through certificates, badges, trophies and house points.

Houses compete for trophies in a whole range of activities, which focuys on the entire curriculum. All subject areas are involved, and provide numerous opportunities for all students to utilise their particular passion and interest. Houses also compete for participation in school trips and reward events which cultivates the house spirit.
