I hope you are all excited to be starting your journey at The Bulmershe School – I can’t wait to meet you all. My name is Mr Williams and I am a Business Studies and Economics teacher, as well as having the pleasure of being your Head of Year. 

Year 7 is a chance for a fresh start and a chance to push yourselves out of your comfort zones and try new things. Secondary School is an extremely important phase in your life and can be daunting, but we are here to help, support and guide you throughout this time. Once school starts, Form Tutors are the main point of contact between home and school, you will get to know your Form Tutor in the first few weeks of attending The Bulmershe School (details may be found below).

It is extremely important to us that the transition from primary school to secondary school is a smooth and positive one. This is why things such as our transition days and summer schools are valuable experiences to help you settle quickly at The Bulmershe School.

We know that parents can sometimes feel not as ‘involved’ once their child goes to Secondary School, we all want to encourage the students to develop their independence, however, please do not hesitate to let us know if you have any concerns. The school will keep you informed with updates about your child’s attainment and effort throughout the year via our SIMS platform, phone calls, emails, various reports and parents’ evening.

SIMs Parent App - Your SIMs login will be sent out in September. 

Google Classroom Homework - Students will have a lesson in school on how to access Google Classroom. They will be given their logins then.

Sparx Maths Homework - Students use their Google Login to access Sparx

Accelerated Reader - Students will have a library lesson to learn how to use this reading software

Pupil Premium students in Year 7

There may be financial assistance available for Pupil Premium pupils for school trips and other activities but individual enquiries to the school should be made regarding this assistance.
