Personal Development

Personal Development [PD] and enrichment plays an important role within our sixth form curriculum. Each 6th form student receives 2 PD lessons that are delivered within tutor time each week.  These sessions cover a range of different topics that are relevant to their age group. Each topic is purposefully linked to the school's CORE values and cover a variety of subjects.

All 6th form students take part in our annual mock interview day which is arranged by ex-students who have gone on to gain apprenticeships at companies such as Microsoft. We pride ourselves on our links with both many ex-students and also many local companies.  All Year 12 students complete work experience in the summer term and this can either be arranged independently or through an arranged agency. As well as students receiving personal development sessions throughout their sixth form journey, students are also offered a range of enrichment programmes to enrol in during their Wednesday period 5 slots. We have a mixture of teacher-led and student-led offerings, with many focusing on sixth form students giving back to the lower school and volunteering their time to help.
