Examination Results

Whilst education is about so much more than examination success, we remain proud of our tradition of academic achievement, particularly in an ever-changing educational landscape.

Our school continues to make great strides in academic achievement, and we are so proud to announce that our GCSE results this year saw nearly 60% of all GCSE grades at grade 5 or higher. 74% were graded 4 or higher and over a fifth of all grades were grade 7 or higher.  Over half of the students gained a grade 5 or above in English and Maths, exceeding the national average.  Our GCSE learners that attended school for 95% of the time or more gained three quarters of a grade higher across all of their subjects compared to students of similar academic starting points nationally.

Our A-Level results were also very strong with over half of all results being graded at A*-B and 74% gaining A*-C.  8.3% of students achieved the highest possible grade of A*, which surpassed the national average. 89% of students have taken places at universities across the country, including three to Oxbridge and many others have secured places on competitive apprenticeship programmes.
