Bulmershe Equality Plan

Commitment to Equality, Diversity and Inclusion

As a vibrant, diverse and inclusive community, Bulmershe are driven by our core values: Respect, Responsibility, Resilience and Safety, as well as the Corvus Learning Trust’s mission: “Together we flourish.”

Our Equality Plan (2025 - 2029) serves as a clear statement of our commitment to embedding equality, diversity and inclusion into every aspect of school life.

This plan is guided by the Equality Act 2010 and the Public Sector Equality Duty (PSED). We are committed to continuous improvement by systematically eliminating unlawful discrimination, advancing equality of opportunity and fostering good relations between people from all groups, particularly those with protected characteristics.

Our Equality Objectives

The Equality Plan sets out nine ambitious, long-term objectives focused on ensuring every member of the Bulmershe community feels valued, respected, and supported to achieve their full potential.

Key objectives include:

  • Promoting Equality of Opportunity: Regularly reviewing curriculum content for diversity, gathering student and staff voice on experiences, and monitoring key data (attainment, behaviour, participation) by protected characteristics to ensure fairness.
  • Fostering an Inclusive Environment: Developing an innovative, broad curriculum that celebrates diversity and challenging prejudice through a robust behaviour policy and staff training.
  • Targeted Support and Attainment: Providing targeted interventions, enrichment and staff professional learning to close gaps and ensure all students and colleagues can reach their full potential.
  • Accountability: Implementation is driven by the Senior Leadership Team and Governing Body, with termly reviews to ensure our practices remain lawful, transparent and effective.
