Your Voice Matters: How we use survey feedback to improve The Bulmershe School

We firmly believe that continuous improvement is driven by the voices of our community. This Survey Feedback page shows you exactly how we listen to our key stakeholders - parents/carers and students - to shape the future of our school.

Throughout the academic year, we actively seek your input through a range of student questionnaires and by requesting parent and carer feedback.

We are committed to transparency: every piece of feedback we receive is carefully analysed and discussed by the Bulmershe Leadership Team. Your valuable input directly informs our strategic decisions, helping us to continually enhance the school experience and ensure our students receive the best possible education and support.

This page is where you can view the results of our recent surveys and read about the actions we have taken.

Parent Feedback Autumn 2025

Thank you to everyone in our community who took the time to complete our Autumn Parent Survey. Your feedback is very important to us and helps us celebrate our strengths as a school, while also identifying areas where we can continue to improve.

We are delighted to share the highly positive results, which reflect the dedication of our staff and the supportive, welcoming environment we strive to create for all students.

Overall Highlights: A Highly Positive Picture

The survey results show that the vast majority of parents are happy with the education and care their children receive at Bulmershe:

  • 97% of parents say their child is happy at school.
  • 96% of parents say their child feels safe.
  • 98% agree that the school has high expectations of their child.
  • 95% of parents would recommend the school to another family.

We are also particularly pleased to see improvements compared to last year in areas like parent awareness of what children will be learning and student participation in clubs and extra-curricular activities. This success is a testament to the hard work put in across the school.

What Parents Are Saying

We are pleased that our community recognises the commitment of our staff and the positive impact this has on our students. Your feedback highlights the support, communication and care that makes Bulmershe special.

Here are a few examples of the positive comments we received:

“It’s been fantastic to hear how much he enjoys his classes and how highly he thinks of his tutors.”

“It’s a great school. My son is neurodiverse so struggles at times however the wonderful teams in signal and attendance always pick him up when it all feels too much for him.”

“Amazing communication and opportunities for the kids.”

“I feel my child has been strengthened and encouraged at Bulmershe.”

You Said, We Did: Actions Based on Your Feedback

You Said We Did
Pupils need more opportunities for wider personal development. We will be sharing our RSE (Relationships and Sex Education) policy with families and inviting parents/carers to a forum to help shape the curriculum
Concerns sometimes take too long to be dealt with. We are actively reviewing our processes to ensure parents receive timely responses, while also making sure staff are supported to provide effective, long-lasting solutions.
More variety of clubs and activities is needed. We are working directly with pupils to find out exactly which clubs and activities they would most like, so we can develop opportunities based on their interests and broaden our extra-curricular offering.
You want clearer information about what your child is learning We are publishing more detailed curriculum information on our website to keep all families fully informed about the content and progression of lessons.
Bring back face-to-face parents’ evenings. We understand the desire for in-person meetings. While attendance and flexibility benefits mean we will retain online parents' evenings, we have increased opportunities to meet staff through events like pastoral coffee mornings, curriculum evenings, and work experience workshops.
