Child Protection and Safeguarding

Working Together to Safeguard Children

Safeguarding is often seen as a formal term, but at its core, it is about looking out for one another. It means protecting our students from harm, supporting their mental health and ensuring they have the very best environment in which to grow. We teach our students about these topics in a way they can understand, focusing on their right to be treated with respect and their responsibility to look after their peers.

We view safeguarding as a partnership between school and home. We encourage all our families to be vigilant; you know your children better than anyone. Sometimes a change in mood, a dip in attendance or an unusual struggle with schoolwork can be a sign that something isn't quite right.

If you ever have a concern, whether that is about your own child or a child you know, no matter how small it may seem, please do not hesitate to reach out to us. We have a dedicated team of safeguarding experts who are here to help:

In our curriculum we include a large amount of work on maintaining a healthy body and mind by making the right choices. This covers a range of areas from sex and relationship education to Internet safety.

We also provide parent information evenings on topics which we feel would be useful to parents of teenagers. Where possible we will upload these for you to be able to view.
