The Bulmershe School are looking to employ an inspirational, dynamic and well-skilled Head of Psychology to join our Social Science Faculty. Psychology is a subject offered to our rapidly growing 6th form and follows the WJEX/Eduqas syllabus. You will be expected to pass on your passion for the subject in a stimulating and exciting way, offering opportunities for students to learn a variety of historical and current psychological approaches, principles of behaviour and explore scientific and contemporary psychological research.

SPECIFIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Strategic Direction:
- Promote the subject, its importance, and the value that it brings across the school
- Have a good understanding of how well the subject is being delivered and the impact it has on student achievement
- Use this understanding to feed into the school development plan and produce an action plan for the subject
- Liaise with our feeder primary schools on the transition of the subject to secondary school to ensure that progression is built into the curriculum
- Work proactively and effectively in collaboration and partnership with learners, parents/carers, governors, other staff and external agencies in the best interests of students
Teaching:
- Teach Eduqas A-level Psychology to years 12 and 13
- Teach AQA Psychology at KS4
- Pro-active and innovative lesson planning and assessment
- Responsible for the learning and achievement of all students in your classes, ensuring equality of opportunity for all
- Responsible and accountable for achieving the highest possible standards in work and conduct
- Treat students with dignity, building relationships rooted in mutual respect, and at all times observing proper boundaries appropriate to a teacher’s professional position
