37 Hours per week: Mon – Thu 8am – 16:00, Fri: 8am – 15:30
Salary: Term Time only - Grade 4: £18,665-£20,071

The Bulmershe are looking for an Administrator/Receptionist to join our friendly and vibrant school. The role will be to provide full, general support to the school, including administration tasks, Reception duties and organising staff cover. Reporting to the Assistant School Business Manager, previous experience in a school would be ideal, however due to the supportive nature at the school, this role would also suit an office junior.
SPECIFIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Undertake day to day administration duties as directed by the line manager
- Deal with daily correspondence, telephone calls, standard letters, reports, receive, distribute and frank mail
- Act as school receptionist; meet all visitors to the school, deal with general parental enquiries by telephone, take messages and refer matters which are not of a routine nature to the appropriate person
- Undertake the day to day administration duties to support the teaching and learning of students in the school as directed by the senior leadership team, including behaviour management and work experience
- To help with the organisation of staff cover and first aid administration
- Be responsible for student intake and exit administration (including primary admissions) and maintain SIMS database
- Support parent and open evenings with administrative duties prior to school events
- To be responsible for the typing, updating, photocopying, scanning and the distribution of reports and forms (e.g. school policies, school prospectus, staff manuals etc)
- Establish and maintain administrative systems in order that the tasks undertaken by the line manager can be successfully completed
- Book courses for staff and arrange supply cover where necessary, following school’s guidelines, and book all transport required by the school
- Assist with administration and engagement with teachers, parents and students for trips and events
- Any other duties that reasonably fall within the remit of the post, which may be allocated after consultation with the postholder

- Able to use Word, Excel and Outlook
- Quick to learn systems and processes

- Ability to set up and maintain records and filing systems
- An ability to speak with confidence and accuracy, using clear sentence structures and vocabulary
- NVQ level 2 (administration) or equivalent would be beneficial but not essential
