The Bulmershe School, Reading seeks an outstanding teacher of Computing with strong passion and very good knowledge of Computing to join us in the autumn term between September and December, 2022. Depending on experience, the successful candidate could assume the post of Second in Department, a TLR3 post that attracts a remuneration of £2,000pa.
The Computing department at Bulmershe offers a rich, stimulating and inclusive curriculum designed to meet the needs of all students at key stages 3,4 and 5. At KS3, we offer a differentiated centrally planned and resourced curriculum that completely and adequately covers the KS3 National Curriculum for Computing and spans three years; amounting to a minimum of 100 hours of learning. Our KS4 spans through year 10 and 11, offering OCR GCSE in Computer Science and BTEC Level 1/2 Technical Award in Digital Information Technology as alternative options. At KS5, we offer three courses: OCR Computer Science, Cambridge Technical Level 3 Extended Certificate in Information Technology and Level 2 Certificate in IT User Skills (ECDL). The department currently has four specialist teachers of Computing and a trainee teacher. The successful candidate will be joining a department that has earned a reputation for outstanding resources, positive and stimulating learning environment and collaborative planning. The department is currently experiencing growth in enrolments at GCSE and A/Levels that any school will be very proud of.
