At The Bulmershe School, we believe in providing students with rich, memorable experiences beyond the classroom - and our recent theatre trip was a perfect example of just that.

On Wednesday 23 April, the cast and crew of our school production, Kinky Boots, were rewarded with a special celebratory trip to London’s West End to see Mean Girls the Musical at the Savoy Theatre, London. With two full coaches and the entire Grand Circle booked out, it was an unforgettable night of laughter, music and high-energy choreography.

Trips like this aren’t just a reward - they are part of our wider commitment to exposing students to the arts. Throughout the school year, Bulmershe runs numerous theatre visits, encouraging a love of performance, storytelling and cultural understanding. For our students involved in school productions or studying drama and music, these trips offer a chance to see top-tier performance in action, fuelling creativity and ambition.

Mean Girls the Musical was a comedy-packed show that had our students captivated from curtain up. But the true highlight of the evening? The moment our students were praised by theatre staff for being "the best school group they’d ever hosted"! One usher even remarked that we behaved better than some adult theatregoers! With no snacks in sight (thanks to Mr Hood’s strict snack ban), students represented Bulmershe with maturity, kindness and excellent behaviour - making our Headteacher and staff incredibly proud.

This trip was more than a night out - it was a demonstration of how Bulmershe students contribute positively to the wider community, even when off-site. As we continue into the summer term, we look forward to more opportunities to enrich our students’ education and show the world what Bulmershe pride really looks like.
