Record Breaking Sixth Form Success

Celebrating academic achievements is a wonderful moment for our school community. We are proud to share our Sixth Form results for 2026, marking a successful year for student attainment and future destinations. These accomplishments reflect the dedication of our young people and the supportive environment we cultivate.

Record Results for Our Largest Cohort

This summer, 131 students completed a total of 397 A-Level and vocational qualifications, making this our largest Year 13 cohort to date. Our students achieved a high number of top grades recorded by the school. A* grades reached 11.6%, which sits significantly above the national average of 9.7%, and six students secured at least three A* grades. Furthermore, our A*-A attainment matched the national average at 28.7%. Progress was strong across subjects like Further Mathematics, Spanish, English Literature, Mathematics, BTEC Sport and History, placing many of our departments well within top national percentiles. Excellent outcomes were also seen in Drama and Theatre Studies, Physics, Computer Science and Music.

Exciting Destinations and Bright Futures

Almost all university applicants gained places at their first-choice institutions. This includes students progressing to Oxford and Cambridge alongside competitive fields like Medicine and Engineering. Students will study a diverse range of subjects including Mechanical Engineering, Law, Business, Marketing, Languages and Sport Science. Beyond university, a growing number of students secured degree apprenticeships with organisations such as Thames Valley Police, Berkeley Homes, Thames Water and British Airways. These outcomes show how hard work pays off, giving our young people the confidence to step into the adult world.

The Long-Term Journey at Bulmershe

Success at Sixth Form level begins long before students enter final examinations. From the initial secondary school transition through to advanced studies, we focus heavily on student wellbeing and academic guidance. By offering a range of extra-curricular opportunities, we help pupils build resilience and independence. This approach ensures that young people develop soft skills needed for modern careers, binding The Bulmershe School community together through shared ambition.
