A shout out to all the students who have represented Bulmershe in the Wood Plc Engineering Work Experience. We have participated in this experience three times and each time Bulmershe outshine all the other schools in Berkshire! This is due to the absolute commitment and dedication of the staff at this school – we are so lucky to work with such caring and passionate people fighting for the best for our students! “I just wanted to thank you again for your continued support of the Wood Work Experience, and also say just how impressive your students are. It’s definitely no coincidence that the best task submissions, as well as the most motivated and socially aware students come from Bulmershe…please pass on my feedback to their science teachers/form tutors that their work was at such an impressive standard and I have no doubt that they have the aptitude to pursue Engineering if they do so wish. They should be very proud of themselves.” Wood Plc Team
We are extremely grateful for the ongoing support from Guy Gregory, Partner Technology Strategist at Microsoft, whom has kindly volunteered to work with The Bulmershe School to establish and develop a Code Club. We have 15 regular students who now attend Code Club every Tuesday after school, with some students beginning with Scratch and others using very sophisticated code such as Java and Python. Guy has nurtured the students throughout the term and they are making phenomenal progress. One student in particular was in Set 3 Computing achieving a grade 6, they have subsequently moved up to Set 1 Computing and are now achieving a grade 9. This has all been possible thanks to the continued generosity, kindness and support from Guy and from the Computing Teachers at Bulmershe who give up their afternoons to develop our students.
