Learning Support Assistant Grade 4
Full time (Grade 4)
Hours: 30 hours per week, term time only
Actual salary: £13,972– £15,124 according to experience
To start: as soon as possible
Closing Date: 30th November 2022
We are looking to appoint an enthusiastic and committed Learning Support Assistant to join our successful SEND team and thriving school. The role entails working with students with a range of SEND needs but primarily with young people who have hearing/visual impairments and a range of physical difficulties. You will be responsible for ensuring the students are fully prepared for all of their lessons and learning. You will support students in a range of different subjects at KS3 and GCSE, working alongside the teacher. This will require adapting resources, working with students in small groups or one-to-one in the SEND department.
The successful candidate will demonstrate flexibility, the ability to adapt curricula to meet SEN needs and the ability to support students with alternative methods of recording work, primarily the effective use of laptops. You will also work with other external professionals to deliver and develop the programme of support for each child. You will work closely with OT and HI professionals and liaise with them. Ideally you will also be confident running small group alternative PE and sensory circuits guided by OT plans.
Ideal candidates will have experience of working with students with SEND and in particular physical and sensory needs. Training will however be provided for suitable candidates as necessary.
The Bulmershe SEND department has its own base with fantastic facilities which afford a superb environment in which to work and learn. We are a friendly and supportive team of 15 staff who have a wealth of experience. In an ever changing world, we continue to learn and adapt in order to best support our student community.
