The Bulmershe School is seeking an exceptional and ambitious Assistant Headteacher for Behaviour, Attendance and Wellbeing to join our Senior Leadership Team. This is a pivotal role for a leader who believes that high standards and strong relationships go hand-in-hand. You will be the strategic architect of an environment where students behave with integrity, attend with pride and feel a deep sense of belonging.

We particularly welcome applications from candidates whose teaching subject is PE, History, Business, Art, Maths or Science.

Your Strategic Impact

  • Strategic Culture Building: Developing a whole-school Behaviour and Attendance Strategy rooted in clarity, consistency and relational practice.
  • Behaviour and Conduct: Leading a culture of respect and responsibility, implementing proactive de-escalation strategies and restorative approaches to reduce exclusions.
  • Attendance Excellence: Leading high-profile initiatives to reduce persistent absence and ensuring attendance is championed as a critical safeguarding priority.
  • Wellbeing Advocacy: Strengthening our provision for mental health and resilience, ensuring our most vulnerable students feel safe and connected.
  • Empowering Staff: Building leadership capacity across our pastoral teams and coaching staff to be confident experts in classroom management.
     

The Ideal Candidate

We are looking for someone who is as resilient as they are empathetic. You should have a proven track record of driving improvement in pastoral or behavioural settings and a deep understanding of the 2025 Ofsted framework. If you are a visible leader who builds trust with families and has the analytical skills to turn data into action, we want to hear from you.
